Factor X is also known as Stuart-Prower Factor or thrombokinase. It is the first factor in the common pathway and is responsibile for cleaving prothrombin in two places which yields the the active form thrombin.
Factor X is an immune depleted factor that has been stripped of all of its Factor X to give a level under 0.01iu/ml, whilst retaining normal levels of all other factors and fibrinogen.
