Product Information
Oral anticoagulant drugs, such as warfarin, are routinely monitored using the International Normalised Ratio (INR). The measurement of the INR is dependant on many factors, such as choice of thromboplastin reagent, calibration of thromboplastin reagent and source of blood sample – venous or capillary.
COUM-Con 1 may be used as alow therapeutic control when using tests for the monitoring of INR. COUM-Con 1 is prepared from plasma from individuals who are stable on oral anticoagulants. The control plasma should be used to gauge internal factors in each laboratory’s system.
